Our Programs

Empowerment

Self empowerment is seeking the solution rather than fixating on the problem.

Mentoring

The best way a mentor can prepare another leader is to expose him or her to other great people.

Self development

. “ You cannot dream yourself into a character; you must hammer and forge yourself one.” …

Talent development

“The solution to encourage creativity is to maximize use of people’s’ brainpower.”

Start Investing in
Yourself

Young people are diverse and unique and we seek to support and empower them. Education remains the greatest way out of poverty and by equipping young people with the knowledge and skills they will need for a more sustainable future for everyone. To us, empowered youth are confident in their ability to contribute to the world around them and are able to overcome the challenges they face and live up to their potential.

Equipping young people with new skills can make communities safer and healthier and provide an alternative to gangs and drugs. Trained with the skills that amplify their passions and interests, young people are powerful partners in solving problems, creating jobs and leading change.

Mentoring

All young people face changes and challenges. Having a mentor is a valuable way of making a connection or simply a way to learn about themselves. Mentoring, at its core, guarantees young people, that there is someone who cares about them, assures them they are not alone in dealing with day-to-day challenges, and makes them feel like they do matter. The goal of youth mentoring programs is to improve the well-being of the child by providing a role model that can support the child academically, socially and personally.

Benefits of Mentoring
  • Better education outcomes through improved school attendance
  • Improved employment opportunities
  • Increase in confidence, self-esteem, self-worth and aspirations
  • Improves social and interpersonal skills
  • Better relationships with parents and other family members
  • A greater feeling of connection and belonging
  • A reduced chance of getting into dodgy behavior such as violence, risk-taking and substance abuse

Coaching

Sometimes young people can feel like they are stuck on an ever-ending rollercoaster. The expectations they have for themselves, as well as the pressures of fitting in, growing up and planning a future, can make it hard to cope. Coaching can help young people develop life skills and learn how to manage some of the stresses that come along the way. We facilitate self-awareness around concepts like identity, strengths, interests, values, and desires to enhance self-mastery. Coaching youths through personal development involves enhancing their sense of urgency to choose goals, act towards those chosen goals and succeed.

Benefits of Coaching
  • Building confidence and social skills
  • Setting and achieving goals for self-improvement
  • Managing stress effectively
  • Learn to handle and manage emotions
  • Get the opportunity to talk about difficult subjects such as bullying and relationships

Crime Prevention

Our programs are tailored to influence young people to stay on the right track and give them positive role models in their lives. Without having programs and productive things for youth to do, boredom will lead them down the wrong path. Early intervention plays an important role in keeping them from embarking on a life of crime.

Our strategy is educating and empowering young people to prevent them from getting involved in criminal activities.

Culture Acceptance

Young people are introduced to the concept known as culture responsiveness; which is the ability to learn from and relate respectively to people of your own culture as well as the culture of others. The aim is geared towards teaching them to be open to the viewpoints, thoughts and experiences of others. It is about exploring and honouring the differences of others instead of changing them to be more like you.

Emotional Intelligence

Yelah impacts many different aspects of our daily life, such as the way we behave and interact with others. Your level of emotional intelligence is your ability to understand and recognize your own emotions and actions. In essence, it’s your level of self-awareness
